Overlordtour Company is keen to provide a voyage of discovery for clients wanting a tour of several days.

 

A comprehensive guide of the first two tours is nearly complete. We will be able to provide you with further details and costs in a few days.

North/south TOUR

Day # 1:

Paris – Giverny – Honfleur – Bayeux – Overnight in Bayeux.

 

Day # 2:

D-Day sites/American sectors (www.overlordtour.com) - Overnight in Bayeux.

 

Day # 3:

D-Day sites / British and Canadian sectors - Pégasus Bridge (British sector), Courseulles-sur-Mer  (Canadian sector),  Arromanches ( Artificial Harbour ), British Cemetery of Bayeux - Overnight in Bayeux. Depending on the arrival time back in Bayeux you may still have time to visit the Bayeux Tapestry.

 

Day # 4:

Mont-Saint–Michel – Saint-Malo (Brittany) – Overnight in Saint-Malo.

 

Day # 5:

Château de Chambord (Loire Valley) – Visit to a local Wine cellar in the Loire Valley (Cheverny Wine tasting ; 1 bottle offered)  – Overnight in Blois.

 

Day # 6:

Oradour-sur-Glane – Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne (Dordogne Valley) – Overnight in Château du Doux.

 

Day # 7:

Visit to the beautiful villages of the Dordogne : Collonges la Rouge – Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, Château de Castelnau, Curemonte - Overnight in Château du Doux.

 

Day # 8:

Return Paris Roissy Airport – Overnight at a hotel close to the airport (Possibility of leaving clients in Paris if they wish to visit the Capital).

weST/eaST TOUR

Day # 1:

Paris –  Normandy D-Day sites / American sectors - Omaha Beach - Americain Cemetery – Pointe du Hoc - Bayeux - Overnight in Bayeux.

 

Day # 2:

Normandy D-Day sites / American sectors. Utah Beach – Airborne sectors – On the steps of the famous Easy Company (www.overlordtour.com) - Overnight in Bayeux.

 

Day # 3:

Bayeux-Reims – Visit to the cellars of Pommery Champagne – Overnight in Reims.

 

Day # 4:

Visit the Cathédral at Reims – Visit to the Fort de Douaumont at Verdun (WWI sectors)-  Overnight in  Bastogne.

Day # 5 - northen sector:

 

  • 1.  Henri-Chapelle (U.S. cemetery and memorial) and where Otto Skorzeny’s Germans were shot. Explanation of 150th Brigade.
  • 2. Twin villages of Rocherath et Krinkelt, followed by a visit to the museum at Elserborn camp (explanation of US resistance to the main spearhead of the German counter attack).
  • 3. Barraque Michel et Mont Rigi (Operation Stösser, German parachute attack).
  • 4. Baugnez crossroads (‘Malmedy’ massacre of 86 US troops) and museum visit.
  • 5. Visit to La Gleize (Where Peiper was stopped. Museum visit).
  • 6. Ville de La Roche (time permitting).  Junction of the British and American forces.

 

Day # 6 - central sector

 

  • 1.  Bastogne: General McAuliffe’s Headquarters.  +/- 2h.
  • 2. 101st Airborne Museum (an absolute ‘must see’, former officers’ mess).
  • 3. The ‘Boggess bunker’ – 1st Lt Charles P. Boggess – Breaking the siege.
  • 4. Noville – village held by the Desobry team. Recogne – German cemetery.
  • 5. Jacques Wood. Held by ‘Band of Brothers’, E Company, 506 PIR.
  • 6. The Peace Wood (a tree dedicated to each US soldier).

 

Day # 7 - south sextor:

 

  • 1.  Bastogne. Ardennes 44 museum at Bras-Wardin.
  • 2. Ettelbruck - General Patton Museum.
  • 3. Château de Clervaux.
  • 4. Diekirch Museum.
  • 5. US Military Cemetery, Ham, Luxembourg.

 

Day # 8:

Return Paris Roissy Airport – Overnight at a hotel close to the airport (Possibility of leaving clients in Paris if they wish to visit the Capital).
